Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had a great Christmas break. Classes will resume on Tuesday, 1/3.

Upcoming for the Week of 1/2/17

Monday - No school
Thursday - Bible Memory Verse Ps 19:9 is due
Friday - Science Test Ch.3; Spelling List 18 Test (shortened list this week); History state summaries are due

Book Report

Book report on Billy Sunday will be due on Wednesday, 1/11.

HOMEWORK POLICY

The majority of homework is work not completed in class or assignments to prepare for a test or quiz. Homework will also be assigned for special projects or to practice a newly introduced concept.

Each homework assignment has an important purpose for the student. For this reason, I will notify parents if the assignment is not done or if it is turned in late or incomplete. The student will also be given a "demerit" and possibly a recess detention. Five demerits in a nine week period will result in an in-school detention.

Students are given many opportunities throughout the day to earn "Sticker Charts" that he/she may use to erase a demerit (only after the missing or late assignment is completed and turned in the following day signed by a parent). If not completed and returned as stated, the student will be given a zero and retain the demerit. Sticker Charts may also be used to add 5 points to a test or quiz grade (only after the student uses his/her textbook to correct the test or quiz.)

Demerits are given as consequences for unacceptable behavior. Sticker Charts are given as rewards for good behavior and achievements.
